Black Adder - Python IDE

OSNews reviews theKompany’s Black Adder Python IDE.

Black Adder is theKompany’s Python IDE. However, this simple answer, while accurate, does not do Black Adder justice. Black Adder offers Python developers a convenient interface for managing python files, easily navigating classes, debugging python scripts, database connectivity via mxODBC, and, of course, creating GUIs in Python using pyQT and QT Designer. As an added bonus, it does all this on both Windows and Linux.

After seeing that Perl 6 was still going to retain the “line noise” feel of Perl 5 but change the rules on which characters were used where. I was inspired to have a look at Python. Black Adder looks like a good tool to have around when I start doing some serious work in the language.

Black Adder seems to be a great python IDE at first glance, but I was rather disappointed after the certain period of working with it. All these features are realized unsufficiently considered, so now I’m thinking about switching to something more user-friendly.
Of course, it’s the matter of taste, but I prefer Eclipse with apropriate plugins (for Python, I use xored’s TruStudio and consider it the most friendly and nice IDE at the moment).

I totally agree. From all the IDEs for Python Trustudio is the most convenient and nice. I’m waiting impatiently for their 1.0 final or at least release candidate. It seems to come soon.
