Build your own TiVo-like device
ExtremeTech has an article on how to build a Linux Media Jukebox with TiVo like functionality, MP3 player, and DVD playback, using a standard PC with video capture card and FreeVo software. Looks good, the FreeVo software seems to be the link that was missing from other articles I’ve seen for this sort of thing.
