Perl Hacking

Strangely enough I actually seemed to spend most of today hacking at software… Very unusual for me lately. Even better I’ve been hacking in Perl, and learning a fair amount in the process. All good stuff, and I hope to be able to release fairly large patch for LogWatch in the next couple of days.

I think you’ve all missed the point of the post… I was using the word hacking in the “writing software” sense, not the “breaking stuff” sense. If you’re coming here looking for info on “breaking stuff” type hacking, then you’ll be sorely disappointed.

dude your mistake hacking is not about breaking thing you’re making a common mistake, hacking is all about learning finding out how things work, “breaking things” is cracking and is very different to hacking cracking is done by little american teenagers who think they are “1337″ because they can download a program and click a few buttons. I don’t mean to sound offensive so sorry if i do but i just wish people would get thier fact right before they go and class a hacker as a malice person

I agree, there is whay to much grouping of the two classes. crackers are just morons and hackers are just looking for holes allong with other ways to do things. Not everything revolves around a GUI you know.
